Alexandra Kerry, a 30-year-old filmmaker and actress, on Sunday walked on the Cannes Film Festival  red carpet for the premiere of Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill 2" wearing a black dress revealing her right shoulder.

But photographers with powerful flashes ended up capturing more: her bra-less chest.

The Washington Post's gossip column published the photo with a black bar covering her breasts, but the newspaper dutifully noted that such extravagance is "no big deal on the French Riviera."

The New York Post published the photo on Monday with the headline "Kerry's Daughter Is In Top Form."

The Boston Herald on Tuesday showed her from the neck up.

"She seems to be doing her best Janet Jackson imitation," Robi Blute, wife a former Massachusetts politician, told the Herald.

Jackson bared her right breast to millions of Americans watching the half-time show of the football Super Bowl in February.

Kerry was in Cannes to present her short film, "The Last Full Measure," in the Short Film Corner section of the festival. The film describes the ravage wreaked on a US family by the Vietnam war.

Her father is a Vietnam war veteran, but she said her movie's characters are fictional.

John Kerry, a Massachusetts senator, will face President George W. Bush , a Republican, in the November 2 election.
